Genesis 1:4-9
New International Version
4 God saw that the light was good,(A) and he separated the light from the darkness.(B) 5 God called(C) the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.”(D) And there was evening, and there was morning(E)—the first day.
6 And God said,(F) “Let there be a vault(G) between the waters(H) to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it.(I) And it was so.(J) 8 God called(K) the vault “sky.”(L) And there was evening, and there was morning(M)—the second day.
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place,(N) and let dry ground(O) appear.” And it was so.(P)
